About Us
The Seaway Valley Construction & Trades is a group of tradespeople, suppliers and contractors, all involved with the construction industry in and around Cornwall, Ontario. The Association exists to allow a forum for the exchange of information between members, to positively influence governments regarding the concerns of the industry, and to promote the professional nature of the members to the general public.
History
The association has its roots in the early 1960's when it was known as the Cornwall Home Builders Association. Over the years, membership grew to include trades, suppliers and contractors, from both within and outside of Cornwall. As the new millennium approached, the members felt a new name was needed to reflect the diverse membership base. As, such the Seaway Valley Construction & Trades Association was officially introduced shortly .
Our Aims and Objectives
- To maintain and promote teamwork and the highest ethical standards in the construction industry.
- To promote suitable and desirable legislation affecting the construction industry in all its branches.
- To provide a liaison with Governments for any contemplated legislation by either municipal, provincial or federal authorities in so far as the same may affect the construction industry
- To gather accurate statistics relevant to the construction industry and other matters calculated to be of use and assistance to members.
- To foster and advance the interest of those engaged in, or who are directly or indirectly connected with or affected by construction industry in the province of Ontario.
- To represent the members of the association in any matter pertaining to the building or construction industry in the Province of Ontario and in all other matters as may appear to be in the best interests of the construction industry.

The S.V.C.T.A.. maintains this website for the benefits of its members and as a service to any non-members which information is needed for they're new construction or renovation project. A list of members, firms, trades and suppliers are at your disposal.
